During the COVID-19 pandemic in the Netherlands, all businesses were closed except for supermarkets and pharmacies, and a stay-at-home order was issued, making it impossible to engage in any creative activities.
Given that I had to stay at home, I decided to use this time to pursue something I had always wanted to do. I reexamined the history of design from the Industrial Revolution, which is said to have brought about a transformation in manufacturing, and compiled it into a chronological table.
By visualizing the connections between individual design movements and designers, which had previously been fragmented for me, I was able to gain a more comprehensive understanding and grasp the current social role of design from a broader perspective.
